ParkCAD 5.0 Help
To Create a New Design
Tools > Design Manager > To Create a New Design

Allows a parking design to be saved. A parking design consists of a design symbol typically named to describe a particular parking design and all of the contained design iterations (see To Save a Design Iteration) that represent different proposals for the parking design.

To Create a New Design:

  1. Click Design Manager on the ParkCAD toolbar or ribbon. A dialog box similar to the following example displays:

Design Manager

  1. Click Create New Design. A dialog box similar to the following example displays:

New Design Name

  1. In the Name edit box, type a name for the parking design.

  2. Click OK, and then pick a point in the drawing to place the design symbol. The Select Objects dialog box displays:

Select Objects

  1. Select lots and/or rows as well as user drawn islands in the drawing to be associated with this parking design (see Select Objects Dialog Box Explained).

  2. Click Apply. The Save New Design Iteration dialog box displays:

Save New Design Iteration

  1. In the Iteration Name edit box, type a name for the new design iteration, and then add any comments in the Comment edit box.

  2. Click OK to save the design iteration and return to the Design Manager dialog box.

Note: A design symbol contains data associated with the corresponding parking design. Deleting/Modifying a design symbol results in a loss of information of the previously saved design iterations that are not currently drawn. To prevent a design symbol from being inadvertently deleted/modified, it is drawn on a layer/level which is locked by default (see Properties -> Design Symbols Category).
