    In This Topic

This category allows you to view and edit the fastest path conditions, fastest path speed consistency checks, and path overlap conditions (for information on the fastest path and path overlap, see Overview -> Fastest Path and Generate Roundabout -> Path Overlap Analysis respectively).

Design Guidelines' Analysis Conditions Category Dialog Box

Note: For the purposes of describing the software, it is assumed that Right-Hand Traffic is selected under Traffic Direction in Design Guidelines' General Category. If Left-Hand Traffic is selected, the descriptions with references to a right/left turn path should be interpreted in the opposite direction.

    Fastest Path Conditions Section

    V1 < Maximum Entry Speed

Select this option to check that the V1 (entry path speed) does not exceed the maximum entry speed value.

    R1 < Maximum Entry Radius

Select this option to check that the R1 (entry path radius) does not exceed the maximum entry path radius value, which is the minimum radius on the fastest through path of a vehicle traveling prior to the inscribed circle.

Fastest Path Speed Consistency Checks Section

    V1 < V2 + Speed Difference

Select this option to check that the V1 (entry path speed) does not exceed the sum of the V2 (circulatory path speed) plus the speed difference value.

    | V5 - V4 | < Speed Difference

Select this option to check that the absolute value of V5 (right-turn path speed) minus V4 (left-turn path speed) is less than the speed difference value.

    V3 > V1 and V3 > V2

Select this option to check that both the V3 (exit path speed) is greater than the V1 (entry path speed), and that V3 is also greater than V2 (circulatory path speed).

    Path Overlap Conditions Section

    Entry Tangent Length

Select this option to check that the entry tangent length is less than the set minimum value or greater than the set maximum value.

    Exit Tangent Length

Select this option to check that the exit tangent length is less than the set minimum value or greater than a set maximum value.

    Entry Projected Gap

Select this option to check that the entry projected gap is greater than the minimum set value.
