Calculates the dynamic path overlap analysis for a multilane roundabout and draws the vehicle entry and exit path overlaps. The dynamic path overlap analysis is performed to check whether the natural paths of vehicles in adjacent lanes overlap or cross one another while moving through the roundabout.

Note: For the purposes of describing the software, it is assumed that Right-Hand Traffic is selected under Traffic Direction in Design Guidelines' General Category. If Left-Hand Traffic is selected, the descriptions with references to a right/left turn path should be interpreted in the opposite direction.

    Path Overlap Analysis Dialog Box

    Central Island Offset

Specify the central island offset value for all the approaches. The central island offset is the distance from the central island (including the truck apron if applicable) to the nearest overlap path.

    Entry Leg

Displays the name of the approach leg.

    Entry Projected Gap

Displays the gap between the edge of the central island and the extension of the edge of the curb on the splitter island.

    Entry Tangent Length

Displays the length of the common tangent between the entry path centerline radius and the circle created by the inner-most lane's outside painted lane line.

    Exit Tangent Length

Displays the length of the common tangent between the circle created by the inner-most lane's outside painted lane line and the exit path centerline radius.
