Sets the current vehicle for use in generating vehicle simulations; provides functions for creating and copying vehicles as well as viewing/editing vehicle details, and importing and exporting AutoTURN Pro format .veh files.

Filters Section

Search box

Type the desired search value in the Contains text box and then press the Enter key. The search will be applied to all of the filtered vehicles.

Note: Combine search terms with semicolons (;), i.e. AASHTO; NCHRP will list all AASHTO libraries and the NCHRP REPORT 659 (US) library.

Country

In the filter list, select one or more countries to display in the vehicle list (use SHIFT+select and/or CTRL+select to select more than one country at a time). Only the vehicles of the selected countries display in the vehicle list.

Add

Select items from the New Filter list to add up to four additional filters.

Click Clear Filters to clear the search value, reset Country to All, and remove additional filters.

Additional Filters:

Number of Parts

In the filter list, select one or more number of parts to display in the vehicle list (use SHIFT+select and/or CTRL+select to select more than one number of parts at a time). Only the vehicles of the selected numbers of parts display in the vehicle list.

Class

In the filter list, select one or more classes to display in the vehicle list (use SHIFT+select and/or CTRL+select to select more than one class at a time). Only the vehicles of the selected classes display in the vehicle list.

Features

Bicycle, Body Articulated, Independent Rear Steered, Regular, Telescoping.

Guideline

In the filter list, select one or more guidelines (i.e. source publication).

Length

In the filter list, type an overall vehicle length value or specify a range using these operators (>=, <=, <>, <, >, -).

Level

In the filter list, the available types of libraries are All, Custom, MVL (Manufacturer Vehicle Libraries), and Standard.

Note: This filter affects the available libraries in the Library Filter List.

Realistic

In the filter list, select 2D & 3D, 2D Only, or 3D Only to filter the vehicle list based on the type of realistic drawings associated with the vehicle.

Region

In the filter list, select one or more regions to display in the vehicle list. Only the vehicles of the selected regions display in the vehicle list.

Note: This filter affects the available libraries in the Library Filter List.

User Groups

In the filter list, select the user groups to include.

Note: This filter affects the available libraries in the Library Filter List.

Library Filter List

This list displays the available libraries based on the Level and Region filters above.

Note: Specify which vehicle libraries display in the Filter List in Program Settings -> Vehicle Library Display Category.

Vehicle List

This list displays the available vehicles for the Filters and Library Filter List choices.

Preview Area

The selected vehicle is displayed in the preview area above the vehicle list. All standard vehicles display a dimensioned profile in the preview area. Custom vehicles display a dimensioned profile if a profile drawing has been created for it. A realistic vehicle drawing displays if the custom vehicle does not have a profile drawing but does have a realistic vehicle drawing (plan view) associated with it. The extents of the vehicle are represented as a rectangle if the custom vehicle does not have profile or realistic drawings associated with it.

Vehicle Profile Data

This icon indicates that the current vehicle can be used with all 2D tools and is a 3D capable vehicle which works with the following tools:

• Generate 3D Arc Path
• Place 3D Simulation
• Convert 2D to 3D
• Place Vertical Simulation
• Generate Grade Template

Vehicle Information

Click this button to view the selected standard vehicle's information or edit the selected custom vehicle's information.

View/Edit Vehicle Details

Click this button to view the selected standard vehicle's details or edit the selected custom vehicle's details.

Configure Vehicle List

If Permissions are enabled, the following buttons display only if the user has Standard or higher access level (see Program Settings -> Permissions Category: Access Levels).

Create New Vehicle

Note: This functionality is only available in AutoTURN and AutoTURN Pro.

Click this button to create a new vehicle based on the selected vehicle's configuration, number of parts, dimensions, etc. Anything can be changed in the new vehicle.

Copy Vehicle

Note: This functionality is only available in AutoTURN and AutoTURN Pro.

Click this button to create a copy of the selected vehicle. Parts cannot be added to nor removed from copied vehicles.

Import Vehicle

Note: This functionality is only available in AutoTURN and AutoTURN Pro.

Imports a selected custom vehicle (.veh) and its associated load (.ld), sight lines (.sln), tracking points (.tp), as well as the realistic plan and custom profile drawings (.dwg), if applicable. These files must have previously been exported from AutoTURN Pro.

Note:

• As of version 10.0, the loads, sight lines and tracking points are included in the .veh file.
• If the library and the name of an existing vehicle are the same as those of the vehicle to be imported, you will have to rename the vehicle to be imported (see Rename Vehicle to Be Imported).
• Since some features might not be supported by an older version of AutoTURN Pro, it is recommended that the custom vehicle be exported and imported using the same version of AutoTURN Pro.

Export Vehicle

Note: This functionality is only available in AutoTURN and AutoTURN Pro.

Exports the selected custom vehicle and its associated load, sight lines, and tracking points to a .veh (vehicle) file. If the custom vehicle has a realistic plan drawing and custom profile drawing they will also be exported to the same location.

Note:

• As of version 10.0, the loads, sight lines, and tracking points are included in the .veh file.
• If Permissions are enabled, this button displays only when the user has an equivalent or higher access level than that of the custom vehicle (see Program Settings -> Permissions Category: Access Levels). The access level of a custom vehicle is displayed in the top right corner of the preview area in the Select Current Vehicle dialog box.
• Custom profile drawings will have a "@pfl" suffix added to the drawing name so as not to conflict with realistic plan drawings. The suffix will be removed when the drawing is imported.
• Since some features might not be supported by an older version of AutoTURN Pro, it is recommended that the custom vehicle be exported and imported using the same version of AutoTURN Pro.
• If you want the custom vehicles to be exported as VCL files compatible with AutoTURN Pro version 9.1 or older, click VCL (old format) under Vehicle Export File Format in the Vehicle Defaults category of the Program Settings dialog box (see Program Settings -> Vehicle Defaults: Vehicle Export File Format).

Export All Custom Vehicles

Note: This functionality is only available in AutoTURN and AutoTURN Pro.

Exports all custom vehicles and their associated loads, sight lines, and tracking points to their respective .veh (vehicle) files. If the custom vehicles have realistic plan drawings and custom profile drawings they will also be exported to the same location. See Export Vehicle for relevant notes.

Add/Remove from User Groups

Click this button to add or remove the selected vehicle to or from any number of user groups. See User Groups.
