Edit_Row
Tools > Edit Tools > Edit_Row

Change the row name, the row type and other row properties, add or change a center path, move or extend a row, snap rows to other rows, and delete rows.

Edit Row Can Be Used in the Following Ways:

Edit Row

To Change the Name of a Row:

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select one or more rows that you want to edit. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, change the Name of the row(s).

  4. Click Apply.

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 or right-click to end this tool.

To Change the Layout of a Row:

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select one or more rows that you want to edit. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Change, select a layout then click OK.

  4. Click Apply. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 or right-click to end this tool.

To Change the Type of a Row:

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select one or more rows that you want to edit. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Row Type then select the type from the list.

  4. Click Apply. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 or right-click to end this tool.

To Add or Change the Center Path:

This tool is used to separate a double sided row to effect a sidewalk or landscaped area between the rows.

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select one or more rows that you want to edit. (It is possible to edit more than one row at a time however results may not be predictable. (See the note below.) The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, type a value for the center path in the Path Width box.

  4. Click Apply. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4, click another editing tool, or right-click to end this tool.

Note: When changing the center path of a row located in a lot, ParkCAD can adjust adjacent rows to maintain the aisle widths of the current parking standard. If multiple rows are being edited at once, ParkCAD will handle adjustments occurring in different lots, by prompting for action in the first lot followed by the next.

To Move the Endpoint of a Row:

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select the row that you want to edit. (If you select more than one row, the Move End tool will not be available.) The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row.

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Move End.

  4. In the drawing, click inside one of the two highlighted end points.

  5. Drag the selected end point to a new location then click to confirm the new end point. The Information dialog box will update while dragging to show the Row Angle and Stall Count dynamically.

  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 or right-click to end this tool.

Note: Aisle widths and adjacent rows are not adjusted when performing this editing function. Turn on Aisle Construction Lines in Properties -> Construction Lines to have construction lines drawn after performing this editing function.

Hints:

AutoCAD: Use ORTHO and OSNAP mode settings to aid in dragging the row to a new location.

MicroStation: Use Axis Lock and AccuSnap to aid in dragging the row to a new location.

To Extend a Row:

This tool is used to lengthen a row without changing its orientation.

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select the row that you want to edit. (If you select more than one row, the Extend End tool will not be available.) The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row.

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Extend End.

  4. In the drawing, click inside one of the two highlighted end points.

  5. Drag the selected end point to a new location then click to confirm the new end point. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count dynamically.

  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5, click another editing tool, or right-click to end this tool.

Note: This tool moves the row’s endpoint, adjusting the row’s length without changing its orientation. Aisle widths and adjacent rows are not adjusted when performing this editing function. Turn on Aisle Construction Lines in Properties -> Construction Lines to have construction lines drawn after performing this editing function.

Hints:

AutoCAD: Use ORTHO and OSNAP mode settings to aid in dragging the row to a new location.

MicroStation: Use Axis Lock and AccuSnap to aid in dragging the row to a new location.

To Snap to Another Row:

This tool is used to make rows align to a selected row.

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select the row that you want to snap to (this row will remain stationary). (If you select more than one row, the Snap to Row tool will not be available.) The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row.

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Snap to Row.

  4. In the drawing, click inside the row you want to snap to the previous row. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of this row.

  5. Repeat step 4 to snap another row, click another editing tool, or right-click to end this tool.

Notes: This tool moves the row to align with the aisle of the stationary row. In addition, the length of the moving row is adjusted to conform to the stationary row.

Hint: This tool can be used to align a series of individual rows to create a parking lot. Each time a row is picked, it is snapped to the previous row selected.

To Join Two Rows Together:

This tool is used to join two rows together. The tool will be available if only two rows are selected.

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select the two rows that you want to join together. The Information dialog box will update to show the Stall Count of the selected rows.

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Join Rows. The Information dialog box will update to show the Stall Count of the selected rows.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3, click another editing tool, or right-click to end this tool.

To Add a Row to a Lot:

This tool is used to add a row that was not generated at the same time that the lot was generated.

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select one or more rows that you want to add to the lot. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count.

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Add Rows to Lot.

  4. Select a lot to add the row(s) to. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4, click another editing tool, or right-click to end this tool.

To Delete a Row:

  1. Click Edit Row on the ParkCAD Edit flyout or ParkCAD Edit toolbar if it is not already the current editing tool.

  2. In the drawing, select one or more rows that you want to delete. The Information dialog box will update to show the Row Angle and Stall Count of the selected row(s).

  3. In the Edit Row dialog box, click Delete Row.

  4. Confirm the deletion of the selected row(s).

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4, click another editing tool, or right-click to end this tool.
