Aisle Construction Lines

Aisle construction lines are drawn parallel to the row at an aisle width distance away from the open side of the parking stalls. These lines can be set to display while dragging a row and also set to draw when a row is created. See figure below and Generate Row from Elements for examples of using aisle construction lines.

Example of a Row generated with Aisle Construction Lines

In the case of generated lots, aisle construction lines are not drawn since the lot is generated to maximize the available space without violating aisle widths. If aisle construction lines are set to display, they will appear in generated lots when the editing of a row has violated the aisle width of another row. See figure below:

Island Construction Lines

Island construction lines are drawn when ParkCAD is unable to determine exactly how the island should be drawn. The island construction lines are drawn to aid users in designing the island using CAD editing tools. These lines can be set to display while dragging a row and also set to draw when a row is created.

In the case of generated rows, if a connecting island between two rows cannot be drawn, island construction lines will be drawn to display the default end island area for each row to assist a user in designing an island.

In the case of generated lots, island construction lines are drawn to show the area where ParkCAD was unable to determine exactly how the island should be drawn. This often occurs in boundaries with convex perimeter points – see figure below:

See Using ParkCAD -> User Drawn End Islands for information on converting island construction lines into islands that can be reported on.
