The Edit tab is displayed when the 2D Presentation dialog appears. In this tab the complete presentation is configured, including selecting which Path, Stand or Park sessions to be included, time scheduling, static display of objects before and after the movement, etc.
Sessions
The Session panel on the left-hand side of the dialog lists all available sessions that can be included in the presentation.
Park
To include Park sessions in the 2D Presentation, tick the tick-boxes in front of the airplane name and they will appear as static objects in the 2D Presentation.
Path
To include Path sessions in the 2D Presentation, select a session and press the Add session to track list button, located between the Sessions and Timeline panels. The session will be moved to its own track in the Timeline panel.
To add a session to an existing track in the Timeline panel, selected the applicable session from the Sessions panel, select the appropriate track from the Timeline panel, and press the Add session to selected track button, located between the Sessions and Timeline panels.
Stand
To include Path sessions in the 2D Presentation, browse to a session's Dock or Retract sequence and press the Add session to track list button, located between the Sessions and Timeline panels. The sequence will be moved to its own track in the Timeline panel.
To add a session sequence to an existing track in the Timeline panel, selected the applicable sequence from the Sessions panel, select the appropriate track from the Timeline panel, and press the Add session to selected track button, located between the Sessions and Timeline panels.
Timeline
Sessions are added to the Timeline panel with their duration in accordance with the session's movement duration. The timeline can be compressed or expanded with the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons integrated on its left side.
Once placed, it is also possible to move sessions between tracks on the Timeline panel. This can be done by right-clicking on a session and selecting Move up or Move down.
Timeline toolbar
Note: In the Timeline panel, a Camera is indicated by
and the Timeline marker is indicated by
. A camera is added at the start of the every presentation to indicate the initial view.
At the top of the Timeline panel, a toolbar presents a range of options:
- Delete: Removes a Session or Camera from the Timeline panel.
Note: When a Session is deleted it is returned to the Session window and is no longer part of the presentation. To Delete, first left click on Session/Camera you wish to delete (in the Timeline panel) and then click the (now activated) Delete button;
- Enable Follow: Follows the movement of an Object, i.e. it keeps the Object in focus with the same zoom level. It is only possible to follow one movement at a time. When movements occur simultaneously (or partly simultaneously), the Enable Follow only applies to the most recently selected session and is automatically removed for any previous session. To 'Enable follow' an Object, first left click on Session you wish to follow (in the Timeline panel) and then click the (now activated) Enable Follow button;
- Add Camera at Timeline Marker: Adds a Camera transition at the point where the Timeline marker has been dragged to. To 'Add camera at timeline marker', drag the timeline marker to the desired position on the timeline, enter the CAD drawing and pan to find the desired angle, then return to the Timeline panel and click the Add Camera at Timeline Marker button.
- Copy Selected Camera at Timeline Marker: Creates a duplicate Camera which is automatically placed at the Timeline marker's position at the time of copying. To 'Copy selected camera at timeline marker', drag the Timeline marker to the desired position on the timeline, left click on the Camera that is to be copied, then click the Copy Selected Camera at Timeline Marker button. enter the CAD drawing and pan to find the desired angle, then click the (now activated) Add camera at timeline marker button.
- Set Camera to Current View: Applies the current CAD window view to the Camera. In this way various, the view of a previously added camera can be changed without the need to Delete and begin again. To 'Set Camera to Current View', enter the CAD drawing and pan to find the desired angle, return to the Timeline panel, select the camera that you want to change and then click the (now activated) Set Camera to Current View button.
- Show Camera View: Displays the view of the camera of the selected camera. To 'Show camera view', select the Camera that you want to view and then click the (now activated) Show Camera View button.
- Enable Live Preview (
): Enables the live preview mode to watch a user-controlled live preview of the simulation in the CAD window. To use 'Enable Live Preview', click the Enable Live Preview button and then drag the Timeline marker slowly whilst watching the CAD window.
- Show Preview: Shows a preview of the animation directly in the CAD window. To 'Show Preview', select the Animation speed from the drop-down box (or enter a custom speed using the text input box) and then click the Show Preview button.
Before/After
Path and Stand sessions are primarily focused on moving objects, but in a presentation there is often a need to display these objects in a static state before and/or after the movement animation. This can be done by clicking and dragging the left (before) and/or right (after) end of the white bar on the timeline track. The bar will be extended with a pale blue section to indicate the before/after period.
