Note: If Permissions are enabled, this button displays only if you have the Standard or higher access level (see Program Settings -> Permissions Category: Access Levels).
This section provides the means to switch back and forth between plan/profile view data and roofline view data.
Click Plan/Profile View Data to view the vehicle profile and edit the vehicle's plan data.
Click Roofline View Data to edit the vehicle's roofline data.
Displays the current vehicle's creation units. To store the vehicle's dimensions in alternate units, select the desired units from the list.
Displays the vehicle profile selected under General Data, in the Vehicle Profile list.
Displays the plan view of the current vehicle/part when Plan/Profile View Data is selected in the Displayed Data section.
In the case of multi-part vehicles, the entire vehicle or each vehicle part can be displayed by clicking / (Zoom In / Zoom Out) respectively. Each vehicle part can be navigated to by clicking / (Next Part / Previous Part).
Click this check box to display the parametrically drawn rectangular vehicle body. This check box is available only when the vehicle part has a realistic vehicle drawing (see Customizing AutoTURN Pro -> Creating a Realistic Vehicle Drawing).
Click this button in a network installation to share the custom vehicle's definition, realistic vehicle drawing, profile drawing, as well as load(s), sight line(s), and tracking points, if applicable, up to the network database so that they are available for all AutoTURN Pro users on the network (see Share Vehicle).
Note: This button displays if the custom vehicle has not already been shared. The system clocks of the workstations running AutoTURN Pro and the program files server must match for sharing to be successful.
Click this button to verify steering/articulating components. Demonstrates the articulation of the vehicle or part. The steering wheels and parts of the vehicle articulate in relation to each other to show how the vehicle geometry relates to each other.
This section provides the means to specify the current vehicle's name, library, region, country, profile type, vehicle profile, class, lock to lock time, and steering lock angle.
Select the desired profile type:
Select the vehicle profile drawing to be associated with this vehicle.
Select the class of this vehicle. Class can be used to find vehicles via Group Vehicles By.
Click to calculate the steering lock angle for the given radius type and specified radius. See Calculate Steering Lock.
Select the part profile drawing if Parts is selected in the Profile Type list.
Click to set the articulating angle to rear steering angle relationships for a rear steered part in custom vehicles. See Steering Linkages.
Click to specify the cargo details for a special transport cargo or telescoping trailer. See Cargo Details.
Click to specify fillets and/or chamfers for the corners of custom vehicles. See Corners.
Select the desired type of tractor/trailer.
Hint: To copy a tractor/trailer from an existing vehicle, click Get from vehicle in the list, and then use the Extract Tractor/Trailer Data dialog box to select the desired vehicle.
Click to add a new part to the end of the vehicle.
Click to remove the current part from the vehicle.
Specify the body width of the current part.

The trailer's rear axle group can be configured for fixed and steering axles when the Rear Steerable steering type is selected. Configure the rear axle group by selecting the axle in the group where the fixed axles start from the Fixed Start list, and then selecting the number of fixed axles from the Num list. The Fixed Start axle is counted from the rear axle closest to the front of the part (see Axle Group Details).
The trailer cannot have the Rear Steerable steering type if the tractor has the Front and Rear steering type.
For multi-part vehicles, the angle between adjacent vehicle parts, such as between the tractor and trailer of a semitrailer vehicle. Also known as yaw.
For multi-part vehicles, the angle of rotation around the lateral axis of the vehicle between a tractor and a trailer.
For multi-part vehicles, the angle of rotation around the longitudinal axis of the vehicle between a tractor and a trailer.
Specify the number of axles in the axle group.
Specify the number of wheels per axle.
Specify the width of the axles to the outside of the wheels.
This is the number of bogies in the part.
For steerable bogies, this indicates that the bogie axle group is steerable. Most vehicles with steerable bogies are shipped in two versions - with a front steerable axle group bogie or with a rear steerable axle group bogie. The names of vehicles with rear steerable axle group bogies end in "R" (e.g. Wind Tower Trailer C1R).
Click to configure the front and/or rear axle group. See Axle Group Details.
Click this button to configure the bicycle's heights and widths. See Bicycle Dimensions.
Select a roofline/outline from the list or click Import Outline or Roofline pick a pre-drawn polyline / complex chain.

If the picked element is a closed polyline / complex chain (outline):
Example of an outline drawing (encompassing the entire vehicle/part)
Note: The custom roofline will no longer be available if you select a different roofline from the Roofline list. The custom roofline will need to be re-imported.
The connector heights default to the part's respective ground clearance values depending on the tractor and trailer types. Select the Override check box to specify custom values.
These are the distances from the ground to the underside of the vehicle at the Front, Wheelbase, and Rear locations of the vehicle. Click Chamfers to specify chamfers for the profile of the vehicle.
