    TORUS Configuration Utility
    In This Topic

TORUS uses the registry to keep track of where the folders and files it requires are located. If you need to change these locations after installation, use the TORUS Configuration Utility: trconfig.exe so TORUS will know what the new locations are. This utility should only be used if you manually move the TORUS folders after installation, the License Server has been changed (i.e., IP address or communications port), or the workstation has lost communication with the License Server because of network changes. This utility should not be used during the installation process as the required registry entries are created automatically during program installation.

This utility is made available for workstations in network configurations and standalone computers running TORUS.

The utility must not be run on computers not configured to run TORUS (i.e. License Server or Program Server).

TORUS Configuration Utility Dialog Box Explained

    License Server Section

    Host

This can be either an IP address or a computer name.

    Port

This is the communications port that the workstation will communicate with the License Server on.

    Database Section

    Database Path

Use this box to specify the path of the local database.

    Required Folders Section

    Program Files

These are the files required by TORUS to run the program. Generally, they include the .arx, .ma, .exe, and .dll files, etc. Program files are normally located on the workstation.

    Workstation

This is the location where settings are stored and accessed by TORUS when running the program. It is also the default location for storing and accessing user created files.

Note: This value should always point to the workstation, not to a shared location.

    Optional Folders

Set these values if you want to specify different locations for user created files. Set them to <default> to have the program use the default folders in the path specified in the Workstation box in the Required Folders section.

    MicroStation Cell Libraries Section

    Patterns

This location is used by MicroStation to locate hatch pattern files for use in TORUS. This value is ignored for AutoCAD users as TORUS uses AutoCAD's search file path to locate hatch patterns.

    Report

Click this button to generate a report of your current configuration settings. This is useful if you require assistance from Technical Support and they need to diagnose a problem with your configuration.

    Reset

Click this button to reset TORUS to default settings. The files in the Settings folder will be deleted, and the current user registry entries will be cleared.
