GuideSIGN Plus uses the registry to keep track of where the folders and files it requires are located. If you need to change these locations after installation, use the GuideSIGN Configuration Utility: gsconfig.exe so GuideSIGN Plus will know what the new locations are. This utility should only be used if you manually move the GuideSIGN Plus folders after installation, the License Server has been changed (i.e. IP address or communications port), or the workstation has lost communication with the License Server because of network changes. This utility should not be used during the installation process as the required registry entries are created automatically during program installation.
This utility is made available for workstations in the network configuration and standalone computers running GuideSIGN Plus.
The utility must not be run on computers not configured to run GuideSIGN Plus (i.e. License Server or Program Server).
This can be either an IP address or a computer name.
This is the communications port that the workstation will communicate with the License Server on.
These are the files required by GuideSIGN Plus to run the program. Generally, they include the .arx, .ma, .exe, and .dll files, etc. Program files are normally located on the workstation.
This is the location where settings are stored and accessed by GuideSIGN Plus when running the program. It is also the default location for storing and accessing user created files. This value should always point to the workstation and not a shared location.
Set these values if you want to specify different locations for workstation folders. Set the values to <default> to have GuideSIGN Plus use default folders in the workstation folder location setting. The GS Level Properties (GSLevelProperties.set) path depends on the type of installation and may be as follows:
Installation | GS Level Properties |
Standalone | %appdata%\Transoft Solutions\GuideSIGN 2024.8.2\Settings\ |
Network | User specified |
For information on storing user created content, see Customizing GuideSIGN Plus -> Saving User Created Content.
Click this button to generate a report of your current configuration settings. This is useful if you require assistance from Technical Support and they need to diagnose a problem with your configuration.
Click this button to reset GuideSIGN Plus to default settings. The files in the Settings folder will be deleted, and the current user registry entries will be cleared.
To prevent users from making unwanted changes to certain files stored on the server in the User Contents folder, network administrators may set the desired folders/subfolders/files to read-only. In this case, warning messages will display if users attempt to modify or delete read-only files residing on the server, and the operation will be disallowed.
