The Edit view is displayed when an airplane has been selected and opened. When the Service Editor is in the Edit mode, the characteristics of the selected service arrangement can be modified in order to create the desired user-defined setup.
On the left side of the dialog box, the Ground Support Equipment pane lists all of the service vehicles that are included in AviPLAN Airside Pro 's standard arrangement for the selected airplane. A standard arrangement is typically defined in accordance with manufacturers' Airplane Characteristics for Airport Planning (ACAP) documentation.
Replacing/Repositioning/Removing Ground Support Equipment
Expanding the node associated with the vehicle that is to be replaced and/or repositioned reveals controls to browse the object library, move, rotate and set the articulating angle(s) and number of trailers (Baggage and Cargo trains only), where applicable. A vehicle can be removed from the service arrangement by clicking the button next to its type name.
Note: Vehicles are filtered based on their type and can only be replaced with others of the same type. To select a user-defined vehicle that has been created using Vehicle Editor, ensure that the type description has been set for the vehicle (see Vehicle Editor -> General node).
To add a new vehicle to a service arrangement, click the button under Add New Object from Library located at the bottom of the Ground Support Equipment pane. A dialog box will display where the object type and vehicle model(s) can be selected.
After you click OK, the new object will be added to the list in the Ground Support Equipment pane with its position set at an offset from the airplane wing (at the bottom of the Service Arrangement Preview pane). From there, the object can be repositioned as required.
On the right side of the dialog box, the Service Arrangement Preview window displays a preview of the airplane and its service arrangement, with the service vehicle that is selected in the Ground Support Equipment pane indicated in magenta in the preview. Conversely, clicking on a vehicle in the Service Arrangement Preview pane will expand the corresponding tree node in the Ground Support Equipment pane.
Pan/Zoom
It is possible to pan and zoom in the Service Arrangement Preview window using standard CAD mouse wheel methodology (press and drag the wheel to pan the view, roll the wheel to zoom the view, and double-click the wheel to zoom the view to extents).
Modify the characteristics as desired and then save the service arrangement by clicking the Save button on the Quick Access toolbar. Once saved, a user-defined service arrangement can be applied to an airplane by using Service Arrangement in the the Drawing Manager dialog box.
