AutoTURN Pro 11.0 Help
Place Vertical Simulation
Tools > Place Vertical Simulation
Note: This functionality is only available in AutoTURN and AutoTURN Pro.

Places a forward vertical simulation using the current vehicle on selected vertical path elements.

Note:

Place Vertical Simulation Dialog Box

Draw Simulation On Section

Set the layer/level that the simulation will be drawn on in the following ways:

Click Current Layer/Level to have the simulation drawn on the CAD platform’s current layer/level.

Click Layer/Level, and then select the layer/level in the Layer/Level box to have the simulation drawn on an existing layer/level.

Vehicle Section

Cites the library and name of the vehicle used in the simulation and displays the vehicle in profile view.

Click Select Vehicle to change the vehicle used in the simulation.

Vertical Simulation Draw Options Section

Set which elements to draw as well as the element’s color, line style, and clearance value as applicable for each element.

Body Envelope

Select this check box to have the vertical simulation drawn with a vehicle body envelope. The swept path determines whether the vehicle will make contact with elements drawn on the Obstacles Layer/Level (see Properties' Conflict Analysis Category). The swept path envelope is the tallest path swept out by the top and bottom of the vehicle.

Top Body Clearance

Select this check box and specify a clearance distance to have the simulation drawn with an envelope generated above the vehicle at the distance offset from where the body envelope would normally be drawn.

Bottom Body Clearance

Select this check box and specify a clearance distance to have the simulation drawn with an envelope generated below the vehicle at the distance offset from where the body envelope would normally be drawn.

Detected Conflicts

Select this check box to denote the portions of elements drawn on the Obstacles Layer/Level that conflict with the vehicle body and body clearance envelopes of vertical simulations (see Properties' Conflict Analysis Category).

Tracking Points

Select this check box to draw the tracking points in the vertical simulation.

Note: Tracking points must be specified on the vehicle to enable this element.

Vehicle

Select this check box to draw the vehicle at the start and end of the vertical simulation.

Vehicle Name

Select this check box to draw the name of the vehicle and the vehicle library in the vertical simulation.

Summary

Select this check box to place a summary of the vehicle’s ground clearance values in the vertical simulation.

Link vertical simulation to path geometry

Select this check box to link the vertical simulation to the path's polyline/complex chain path elements. When the path element changes (e.g. when grip editing is performed via AutoCAD/MicroStation commands), the vertical simulation will update to reflect the changes in geometry.
