There are three road marking text styles used in GuideSIGN Markings, called Representations.
The default style in which the marking is normally shown is called Normal and uses an SHX font. This is a simplified version of the actual road text but this will enable text to be clearly read when plotted out on 1:500 or 1:1250 scale drawings.
A second style called Real Road Text is also available which allows fully colored letters. It is not a SHX or TrueType font, but uses polylines/smart lines and solid areas for each letter of the alphabet, but behaves to all intent and purposes as a font.
In some territories, a third style may be available, called Outline, and still using an SHX font, showing the outline of the expected lettering. While this appears more realistic, AutoCAD and Microstation cannot color the SHX font letters and hence, it is an outline font only.
