    The installation of GuideSIGN Markings is straightforward, but is best undertaken by someone with knowledge of your CAD installation. The following instructions assume that you have already installed AutoCAD or Microstation and checked that it is running correctly.

    GuideSIGN Markings is supplied as standalone software via an executable file that is download from the web.
    GuideSIGN Markings is supplied as part of the GuideSIGN Pro suite of software. It is installed when via the GuideSIGN Pro installer .exe file that is download from the web.

    There may also be separate installers for AutoCAD 64 bit, Microstation Connect or Microstation Select so please ensure you use the correct exe file for you CAD system.

    GuideSIGN Markings does not impose any additional hardware requirements but, as with AutoCAD or Microstation, it will benefit from higher machine processing speed, more memory and better graphics cards.

    The AutoCAD version of GuideSIGN Markings is usually compatible with the latest AutoCAD Releases (including AutoCAD MAP/CIVIL variants), and the previous 4 years of AutoCAD releases. It will NOT work with AutoCAD’s earlier than that.

    The Microstation version of GuideSIGN Markings is compatible with Select v8i series 3 and Connect edition 9 and newer.

    You will need to ensure that you have local administrator rights on the machine on which you install the software and its licencing/licensing drivers. Installation consists of running an installer file by double clicking the exe file.

    For standalone GuideSIGN Markings, this will:

    1. Install GuideSIGN Markings files and icons.
    2. Install licencing drivers for different Windows operating systems.
    3. Create an AutoCAD profile or Microstation UCF, that is used when GuideSIGN Markings starts.
    4. Create a desktop icon to start GuideSIGN Markings.

    For GuideSIGN Markings, this will:

    1. Install GuideSIGN Pro and GuideSIGN Markings files and icons.
    2. Install licencing drivers for different Windows operating systems.
    3. Create a desktop icon to start GuideSIGN Pro.
    4. GuideSIGN Markings will appear as additional menu items within the CAD environment.

    There are three installation folders used: The main files – C:\Program files\Transoft Solutions\GuideSIGN Markings\, The shared files – C:\Program files\Common files\Keysoft Solutions, The editable files – C:\ProgramData\Keysoft Solutions\GuideSIGN Markings.

    It is important that users have read and write permissions to the C:\ProgramData\Keysoft Solutions folder, it subfolders and any files in those folders.
