After you have inserted a block (e.g., an arrow or symbol), it is possible to select the item. This will display a blue and red grip.

The blue grip can be selected and the insertion point will then be moved dynamically by dragging the item on the screen. The red grip will allow the rotation to be altered, again dynamically by dragging on the screen.
