Note
The Driver's Eye View Routines are only available in the AutoCAD version of GuideSIGN Markings. The sub sections 1 to 10 do not apply to either the Microstation Connect or Select versions.
This chapter shows how to manipulate the drawing in 3D with minimal effort, to create views which are equivalent to a Driver’s Eye View of the road design.
These can be useful for engineering or presentation purposes – for example for safety assessments or to visualize an obstruction; or to enable presentations to be made for consultation purposes.
A slideshow can be created automatically so these views can be repeated effortlessly and endlessly. Several routines are included in the DEV menu section, to manipulate the position of a viewer and chosen direction of view.
These functions are contained in the GuideSIGN Markings Tools | Driver's Eye View menu, although all the tools described are more easily accessed by ribbon icons.
