GuideSIGN Markings does not remove the need for the expertise of a traffic engineer. It is assumed that the user is familiar with any relevant road rules, regulations, Manual of Traffic Control Devices, and other departmental advice for traffic road markings. What GuideSIGN Markings does do is enable designers to make more efficient use of their time and create a more enjoyable means by which they can practice their art. The features included in the package allow the user to manipulate the lines and symbols commonly encountered in drawings of this type, with minimum effort, and produce a variety of scaled drawings for issue to, say, road marking contractors or for committee reports. Additional features will be of help to those wishing to visualize the appearance of proposed measures, particularly in traffic scheme consultations and safety assessment.
