Using a Team Subscription License
In This Topic
IMPORTANT! You must have administrator permissions to manage a team subscription license.
Team subscription licenses help administrators to effectively manage infrequent users of Transoft products alongside expert users. Team subscription licenses, as well as user subscription licenses (see Installing the Transoft Product With a User Subscription License), are subscription-only cloud-based licenses (i.e. they require internet access), and they are managed in the My Transoft portal (https://my.transoftsolutions.com/login), but, unlike user subscription licenses, they are not explicitly tied to individual users.
A team subscription license is usually acquired to complement a user subscription license. While a user subscription license is intended for frequent users of the software, a team subscription license makes it possible to register infrequent and overflow users. When such user starts the software, a team subscription seat, if available, will be automatically assigned to them on a first come first served basis for a period of 24 hours. During this period, they will have unrestricted access to the software. Once the 24-hour period is over, the license will automatically be returned to the pool.
Administrators manage team subscription licenses via their accounts in the My Transoft portal. The administrator can assign an unlimited number of users to a team subscription license. Users can be added to or removed from the team subscription license as necessary.
You can assign users to the team subscription license in one of the following ways.
- Assigning users through the My Transoft portal similarly to adding users to a user subscription license.
- Generating a self-registration invitation link for the license and distributing it directly to the users.
- Providing Transoft Technical Support with a list of the users to be registered for a team subscription license and requesting assistance in the bulk import of the users' information.
- Using the team subscription license option that allows any user who has a My Transoft portal account to automatically register with the team subscription license upon running the software for the first time. To manage team subscription assignments externally in your own identity provider, you can combine this option with the support for SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) single sign-on and the SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) user provisioning functionality.
Note:
- If the user is registered with a user subscription license and the team subscription license at the same time, they will always be assigned the dedicated user subscription license. This will leave the team subscription seat available for the users that are not registered with the user subscription license.
- A denials report is available to track all instances when the user has been denied a team subscription license because no team subscription seats were available. In the My Transoft portal, in the users list for team subscription licenses, the data in the Frequency column helps administrators identify the users that should be converted to user subscription licenses based on the frequency of their use of the software.
