Allows you to create new sign plan templates and edit existing templates.
Sign Assemblies need to have .sasm files created for them. To create a .sasm file, select the Export to Plan Templates check box in the Sign Assembly tab of the Create Sign Assembly or Edit Sign Assembly dialog box when creating or editing a sign assembly. Essentially, this means creating a sign plan using the Create Sign Assembly tool for each sign assembly to be included in the sign plan template.
If User-Defined Signs are to be included in the template, the User-Defined Sign Library file must be copied to the Assemblies folder where the .sasm files for the template reside.
After the .json files are created for each sign assembly to be included in the template, create a folder in the %appdata%\Transoft Solutions\GuideSIGN 2024.8.2\Contents User\Plan\Plan Templates folder to store the template. Copy the Assemblies\*.json folder and files to the template folder.
Preview and demonstration images need to be stored in the same folder as the template file.

Notes:
Instructions and demo images are to help users pick the correct elements in their drawings.
Location:
Sign plan templates are created in the following folder:
%appdata%\Transoft Solutions\GuideSIGN 8.1\Contents User\Plan\Plan Templates
User-Defined sign libraries must accompany the user-defined sign's json file in the Assemblies subfolder.
Descriptions:
Note: If there are two uppercase names, the first is the name as it appears in the Add menu and the second is as it appears in the template.

Name: Specify a name for this point
Demo Image: Specify an image to display when the template user is picking this point
Instructions: Type a tooltip instruction for the template user to aid them in picking this point in their drawing
INPUT ALIGNMENT - (Optional as required to place assemblies, e.g. points and reference lines)
Name: Specify a name for this element (e.g. RefereceLine1, etc.)
Demo Image: Specify an image to display when the template user is picking this geometry
Instructions: Type a tooltip instruction for the template user to aid them in picking this geometry in their drawing

Instructions: Type a tooltip instruction for the template user to aid them in picking this geometry in their drawing
INPUT ISLAND - (Optional as required to place assemblies, e.g. points and reference lines)
Name: Specify a name for this element (e.g. RefereceLine1, etc.)
Demo Image: Specify an image to display when the template user is picking this geometry
Instructions: Type a tooltip instruction for the template user to aid them in picking this geometry in their drawing
INPUT ASSEMBLY - (Required to place an assembly)
Name: Specify the sign assembly name
Demo Image: Specify an image to display at this step when the template is being run
File: Specify a .sasm file or click Pick Sign Assembly to pick a sign assembly in the drawing (a file will be created).
Instructions: Type a tooltip instruction for the template user to aid them in picking this geometry in their drawing
OFFSET GEOMETRY - (Required as input for PLACE ASSEMBLY: AT, ALONG, e.g. horizontal clearance)
Name: Specify a name for this element (e.g. OffsetReference1, etc.)
Offset value: Specify an offset value
Offset From: Specify the name of the INPUT ALIGNMENT, INPUT POLYLINE, or INPUT ISLAND to offset from
Offset To: Specify which side to offset to
SET LOCATION - (At least one required as input for each PLACE ASSEMBLY: AT)
Name: Specify a name for this location (e.g. Sign1Post1, Sign1Post2, etc.)
Along Line: Specify the name of the INPUT ALIGNMENT, INPUT POLYLINE, INPUT ISLAND, or OFFSET GEOMETRY
At Point: Specify the name of the INPUT POINT
Distance As: Specify the distance from the post to the INPUT POINT
Alignment Stationing: (Optional) Specify the name of the alignment (Name in INPUT ALIGNMENT). Note: The stationing of the element specified in ALONG LINE will be used if this value is not specified.
SET LOCATION GROUP - (Optional, used as LOCATION in PLACE ASSEMBLY to place an array of sign assemblies)

The Name fields of the INPUT commands are used in the Offset From, Along LIne, and Alignment lists
The Name field of the INPUT POINT command is used in the To Point, Start Point, and End Point lists
The Instructions field should instruct the user to pick certain geometry, for example:
Pick the edge of road on the right (in the travel direction)
