Summary of What's New in Version 6.2

Dimensions:

  • The ability to control whether the font letter series is labeled next to the dimension for a line of text.
  • The ability to rotate the vertical dimension text to be aligned with the dimension line.
  • The ability to place the text of all the width and height dimensions above the dimension lines.

Australian version:

  • The ability to select which standard alphabet and spacing to use based on the standard year (1975 or 2015).
  • Panel styles, templates, exit panels, standard signs, and shields can use the alphabet and spacing from AS 1744:2015 (Standard alphabets for road signs).
  • The character spacing in the Place Highway Text tool, including the Highway Text - Advanced dialog box, may be specified using numeric values.

Summary of What's New in Version 6.0

1. Support for M.U.T.C.D. 2009 new colors. Color selection improved to include a set of all standard M.U.T.C.D. colors, along with the ability to define custom RGB colors.
2. Place Short Line tool functionality improved to allow short lines to span panels as dividers or to dynamically resize with the panel while maintaining a fixed distance from the panel borders.

Panel styles:

  • Ability to specify per-sub-panel margin.
  • Ability to preview sub-panel numbering during creation or placement.
  • Panel style parameters for chevron panels improved to allow a specific radius setting for the pointed side(s) of the panel.
  • Chevron margin calculations improved.

4. Update Existing Panel: When a locked panel is updated, the objects in the panel retain their locations.

Moving and placing objects:

  • To Border snap mode for short lines to have them snapped to a border without a margin separation, plus the ability to specify a fixed distance from a parallel border edge.
  • Point to Point snap mode that allows a key point to be specified on fixed and moving objects for precise placement beyond the standard snap positions on the object range boxes.
  • Center in Panel snap mode for moving multiple objects to have the objects centered in the available panel space if the selected fixed object is a short line.
12. Templates: Changing/Rotating arrows and symbols in templates.

6. Australian version only: Users can select Wide, Medium, or Narrow text spacing when placing text on a panel. Note that the Australian letter spacing mode affects only Series B, C, D, and E fonts (letter series). The EM font is always set to Wide. This spacing mode does not affect True Type fonts.
7. Ability to override the panel style’s legend color setting when placing text using the Advanced dialog box.
8. Manual Sizing has changed to Manual Override for Place Arrow and Place Symbol to allow for overriding the panel style’s legend color setting.
9. Ability to choose between placing fractions as a Single-character or Multi-character in the Place Highway Text, Edit Highway Text, and the Highway Text - Advanced dialog boxes.

  1. Separated font (letter series)/size into two tags ($6 and $7).
  2. Added four more Station tags for a total of five ($stn, $stn2-4).
