Level/Layer Properties Section

Allows customization of the levels/layers used by the software (formerly available via the GSLevels.ini file).

The levels/layers on which GuideSIGN Plus places objects can be specified via this dialog box. The GSOUTLINE, GSBWFILL, GSCOLORFILL, and GSDIMS, levels/layers are set during the installation of the software and saved to the GSLevelProperties.set file in the Settings folder in the User Data folder.

Network administrators can set these levels/layers to match their organization's levels/layers, move the file to a location on the network, and then specify the path to the file in the GSLEVELS registry key on each user's system. This allows everyone to use the same levels/layers. Note that users should not have the software loaded while this procedure is in progress.

Below is the default content of the GSLevelProperties.set file:

{

"GsLevelProperties" : {

"PlanLevels" : {

"LEVEL_EXISTING" : "GSExisting",

"LEVEL_PROPOSED" : "GSProposed",

"LEVEL_RELOCATE" : "GSRelocate",

"LEVEL_REMOVE" : "GSRemove",

"LEVEL_REPLACE" : "GSReplace",

"LOCKED" : false,

"numLevels" : 5

},

"SignLevels" : {

"GSOUTLINE" : "GSOUTLINE",

"GSBWFILL" : "GSBWFILL",

"GSCOLORFILL" : "GSCOLORFILL",

"GSDIMS" : "GSDIMS",

"LOCKED" : false,

"numLevels" : 4

},

"Version" : 1

}

}

Note: The GSLevelProperties.set file also includes levels/layers that are specified in the Sign Assembly Category dialog box (see Properties' Sign Assembly Category).

When a GuideSIGN Plus command is run on a sign panel that was created on levels/layers different than what is currently displaying in this category, GuideSIGN Plus will display a dialog asking the user if they wish to migrate the sign and its contents to the levels/layers specified in this category. The dialog box displays the levels/layers that the sign was created on as well as the levels/layers specified in this category.
