Panel styles are sets of design parameters that define the characteristics of a particular type of sign. Panel styles replace the 'settings' files from the versions of GuideSIGN prior to 4.0.

Panel Style Parameters

Panel styles define design characteristics such as:

• Shape
• Type (guide sign, warning sign, exit tab, etc.)
• Default dimensions
• Panel, border, and text colors
• Margins (edge spaces)
• Spacing criteria for text and symbols
• Text heights and fonts (letter series)
• Arrow and route shield sizes

Supplied Panel Styles

The sign and exit panel styles supplied with the program cover most of the standards described in the M.U.T.C.D. 1988, 2003, and 2009 editions.

Modifying and Creating Panel Styles

Panel styles shipped with the software cannot be edited. However, you can create new panel styles based on the existing ones (for more information, see Tools -> Panel Styles -> Create New Panel Style). Unlike shipped panel styles, user created panel styles can be edited, renamed, or deleted.
