The General tab in the Settings dialog box lists the settings that are to be applied to a new drawing or that are already set in the current drawing. When a new drawing is used, and any AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 command is run, a dialog box automatically displays with the initial values determined by the Settings template.

    Settings Template

The Settings template stores values for the individual options listed under Units and Regulations.

Initially, the default Standard AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 template displays. When changes are made to the options under Units and Regulations, an asterisk will be added after the template name to indicate that the values no longer correspond to the content of the template.

The Standard template cannot be replaced, but new templates can be created and updated using the Save and Save As buttons on the right of the Template layer list. When changes have been made and saved, the new/revised template can be set as default for new drawings. To set a template as the default one, click it in the list (click to confirm), right-click in the box and click Set as default.

    Units and Regulations

    Drawing unit

Set the unit for the drawing in order to introduce AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 elements in the correct dimensions.

    The following choices are available:

Note: By default, the drawing unit is set to Unit defined in drawing. This implies that the unit as set in the CAD platform is used. If this is not the appropriate unit for the subject drawing, change it to one of the other alternatives.

When selecting User defined, two additional options will be shown:

    Speed unit

Set the desired speed unit: km/h, mph, or knots.

    Weight unit

Set the weight unit used when displaying, for example, the Maximum Taxi Weight (MTW) for airplanes or the towing capacity for pushback tractors. The following choices are available:

    Regulation

Set the regulation to be used in the drawing. The following choices are available:

Change the selection, if appropriate for subject drawing.

    Default layer

Set the layer (or level in MicroStation) on which AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 data will be stored. CAD files must contain at least one layer/level. By default, DWG files have the layer 0; in DGN files the standard level is Default. It is not recommended to actively use these layers/levels for AviPLAN Airside Pro sessions, as these layers/levels are used by the software internally for the display of ghosted images during construction, editing, or movement of sessions. Choose any other layer/level, or create a new one to set as default layer/level for all new sessions in the drawing. If no other layers/levels are available (or created), AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 will create the AviPLAN-Default layer/level in the current drawing. It will be then used as the default session layer.

    Default dimension style

Select the desired dimension style from the list. If no dimension styles exist in the current drawing, AviPLAN Airside Pro will create a dimension style named AviPLAN-Default and set it as the drawing default.

    Reset to Default

Click Reset to Default to revert to standard defaults for the following values:

Note: User-defined templates, objects, and object groups will not be deleted.
