    International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

The ICAO taxiway and taxilane wingtip clearance element values in AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 are calculated using the applicable ICAO Code letter clearance and the maximum permitted Code wingspan, as specified in ICAO Annex 14 Volume 1 Eighth Edition Amendment 16 (July 2018, amended September 2020), based on the following formulae:

Taxiway center line to taxiway center line minimum ICAO Code letter separation distance (e.g. Code F 91 meters)

    -

Maximum ICAO Code letter Wingspan (e.g. Code F 79.99 meters)

    =

AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 'Wingtips, taxiway (ICAO Code letter)' element (e.g. Code F 11 meters)

Aircraft stand taxilane center line to aircraft stand taxilane center line minimum ICAO Code letter separation distance (e.g. Code F 87.5 meters)

    -

Maximum ICAO Code letter Wingspan (e.g. Code F 79.99 meters)

    =

AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 'Wingtips, taxilane (ICAO Code letter)' element (e.g. Code F 7.5 meters)

For helicopters, the ICAO ground and air taxiway clearance values used in AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 are calculated using the applicable ICAO standard, as specified in Annex 14 Volume II, Heliports, Fifth Edition, July 2020.

    Helicopter ground taxi-routes:
A helicopter ground taxi-route shall have a minimum width of 1.5 times the overall width of the largest helicopter it is intended to serve, and be centered on a taxiway.

    Helicopter air taxi-routes:
A helicopter air taxi-route shall have a minimum width of twice the overall width of the largest helicopter it is intended to serve.

    European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)

The EASA taxiway and taxilane wingtip clearance element values in AviPLAN Airside Pro are calculated using the applicable EASA Code letter clearance and the maximum permitted Code wingspan, as specified in EASA CS-ADR-DSN Issue 6 (March 2022), based on the following formulae:

Taxiway center line to taxiway center line minimum EASA Code letter separation distance (e.g. Code F 91 meters)

    -

Maximum EASA Code letter Wingspan (e.g. Code F 79.99 meters)

    =

AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 'Wingtips, taxiway (EASA Code letter)' element (e.g. Code F 11 meters)

Aircraft stand taxilane center line to aircraft stand taxilane center line minimum EASA Code letter separation distance (e.g. Code F 87.5 meters)

    -

Maximum EASA Code letter Wingspan (e.g. Code F 79.99 meters)

    =

AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 'Wingtips, taxilane (EASA Code letter)' element (e.g. Code F 7.5 meters)

For helicopters, the EASA ground and air taxiway clearance values used in AviPLAN Airside Pro 2024 are calculated using the applicable EASA standard, as specified in Certification Specifications and Guidance Material for the design of surface-level VFR heliports located at aerodromes that fall under the scope of Regulation (EU) 018/1139. (CS-HPT-DSN).

CS HPT-DSN.C.200 Helicopter ground taxiways and helicopter ground taxi-routes:
A helicopter ground taxi-route should extend symmetrically on each side of the center line for at least 0.75 times the largest overall width of the helicopters it is intended to serve.

CS HPT-DSN.C.210 Helicopter air taxiways and helicopter air taxi-routes:
A helicopter air taxi-route should extend symmetrically on each side of the center line for a distance at least equal to the largest overall width of the helicopters it is intended to serve.

    Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

The FAA taxiway and taxilane wingtip clearance element values in AviPLAN Airside Pro are in accordance with those published in FAA AC 150/5300-13B Table 4-1 'Design Standards Based on Airplane Design Group (ADG)'.

For helicopters, the FAA ground and air taxiway clearance values used in AviPLAN are in accordance with those published in Table 3-1. of AC 150/5390-2D, Heliport Design, Issued 1/5/2023.
